wǒ lí kāi běi jīng hū hū guò le liǎng nián

我离开北京，忽忽过了两年。

I am leaving Beijing. Two year has flown by.

lí kāi háng zhōu hū hū yòu shì yī nián

离开杭州，忽忽又是一年。

Another year has slipped by since I left Hangzhou.

sān nián hū hū de guò qù

三年忽忽地过去。

Three years flew by.

hū hū rú yǒu suǒ shī

忽忽如有所失。

It feels as if something is amiss.

tā yǒu diǎn huáng huáng hū hū de

他有点惶惶忽忽的。

He went into a sort of trance.
