相劝

tā duì tā jiě jie hǎo xīn xiāng quàn

她对她姐姐好心相劝。

She offered well-meant advice to her sister.

jǐn guǎn wǒ hǎo yán xiāng quàn tā yī rán bù cóng

尽管我好言相劝，她依然不从。

Though I tried hard to persuade her to do it, she flatly refused.

hǎo yì xiāng quàn yě wú jì yú shì

好意相劝也无济于事。

Offering well-meaning advice also doesn't work.

jié lì xiāng quàn

竭力相劝

do everything in one's power to persuade

kǔ kǒu xiāng quàn

苦口相劝

talk oneself hoarse trying to persuade somebody

tā bù shì kào qiáng zhì lì ér shì kào hé yán xiāng quàn cái chéng shì de

她不是靠强制力而是靠和言相劝才成事的。

It is not by force that she accomplishes things, but by gentle persuasion.
