一马平川

wǒ men yǎn qián shì yī mǎ píng chuān

我们眼前是一马平川。

Before our eyes is a wide stretch of flat country.

fān guò shān jiù shì yī mǎ píng chuān

翻过山，就是一马平川。

After crossing the ridge, there is a wide expanse of flat land.

xiāng cūn yī mǎ píng chuān píng dàn wú qí

乡村一马平川，平淡无奇。

The countryside is flat and featureless.
