  • slKua Fu's race with the sun. According to an ancient myth in Book of Mountains and Seas, Northern Lands Beyond the Sea, a man called Kua Fu, feeling extremely thirsty from chasing after the sun, drank up all the water in the Yellow and Weihe rivers, but that was still not enough. He travelled elsewhere seeking water but died from thirst midway. The stick he left later turned into a wood, called Deng Wood. Now people use this phrase as a metaphor for a person with a strong will or who overestimate
