yào bu shì xià yǔ zán men zǎo jiù chū mén le

要不是下雨，咱们早就出门了。

We would have gone out long ago but for the rain.

yào bu shì nǐ wǒ jiù mí lù le

要不是你，我就迷路了。

I'd have been lost but for you.

yào bu shì nǐ bāng dào máng wǒ zǎo jiù jié shù le

要不是你帮倒忙，我早就结束了。

But for your disservice, I would have finished it.

yào bu shì tā wǒ men bù huì chéng gōng

要不是她，我们不会成功。

If it were not for her, we would not have succeeded.
