Word usage
- Note1. When pronounced as "zhǐ", "只" is an adverb. When pronounced as "zhī", "只" means "single and very few"; it is also used as a quantifier. 2. "只" is generally used before a verb to qualify the things related to the action, the number of things or the action itself; when it is used directly before a noun or pronoun to qualify the number of things, it can be understood as that there is an implied verb "有", "是" or "要" in the middle.
